Student Leadership Program

At Keilor Heights Primary School, we believe every student has the capacity to be a leader. We provide a wide range of leadership opportunities that encourage students to develop confidence, responsibility, teamwork and a commitment to serving their school community.

Our leadership structure includes School Captains, House Captains and Specialist Assistants, who work closely with staff and students to promote school spirit, represent student voice and contribute to school events and initiatives. To support their development as leaders, our senior students attend leadership programs and workshops at the beginning of each year.

Students in Years 5 and 6 also participate in the Play Leaders Program, where they organise and run lunchtime activities for younger students, helping to create an engaging, inclusive and active playground environment. In addition, our strong Buddy Program partners senior and junior students to support our youngest learners as they transition into school, fostering positive relationships and ensuring they feel safe, supported and connected.

Through these opportunities, students develop valuable leadership skills while making meaningful contributions to the school community, helping to create the positive and inclusive culture that defines Keilor Heights Primary School.
